As we get closer to the claiming portion of the round, your mods took a look at the calendar and realized that they'd made a bit of an oops, and set the first round of claiming for the art prompts on a Tuesday. Since most participants are probably working on Tuesdays, we figure that Saturday, March 30th, will be a better choice. The second prompt claim will be on the following Saturday at the same time. All other dates remain the same (including the closing date for author signups).

We currently intend to have prompt claiming open at 11 AM Eastern Time, when both mods will be available to confirm selections in real time.

If you are unavailable to make your claim at this time, you can arrange for a proxy. The proxy needs to have a Dreamwidth account and be logged in (we've disabled Anon posting for obvious reasons).

Calling All Artists!

In the original rules posting, we were allowing artists to submit up to three (3) art prompts. However, with the surprisingly strong interest by writers, we find we're going to need more art! The maximum number of art submissions is now increased to four (4). All other art prompt submission rules apply and remain unchanged.

Welcome to Round One of the Kingsman Reverse Bang, where Art gets created and Words get written.

This is the signup post for ARTISTS (there is a separate post and a separate form for writers). Remember, you can sign up to be both an artist and a writer, but you'll have to complete both forms.

Please use the Artist Signup Form (Google Doc) and then comment here that you've signed up. We would love for you to create your own Dreamwidth account (free and easy), but if you aren't ready to do so, please comment as Anon and include your Tumblr or Pillowfort handle in your comment.

We know that the Rules/FAQ post is long and detailed (your mods tend to err on the side of caution and have had lots of experience in these things, we know where it can all go so badly wrong), but please make sure you read the post before committing. Ask questions, too.

KINGSMAN REVERSE BANG RULES, SCHEDULE, AND FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who is running this thing? Your mods are anarchycox and elrhiarhodan. While we're both on Tumblr, we prefer that you contact us using the Dreamwidth PM function (it goes our email addresses).

What is a reverse bang? A reverse bang is the opposite of a big bang. Instead of authors writing fanfiction and artists making art for that fic, it goes the other way around. The artists create art and the authors get to choose a piece of art for which they want to create fan fiction.

How do I sign up? When sign-ups start, two sign up posts will go up. One for authors and one for artists. You can sign up as an artist and as an author, but you can't claim your own artwork. We'll be using Google Forms for the sign ups, but we also encourage you to let us know you signed up via a comment in the relevant post.

Do I need a Dreamwidth account to take part? One of the reasons why we are hosting the challenge on Dreamwidth is to grow the fandom presence here and while we fully expect the stories to be posted to AO3, we would like to see a reveal post here (with links back to AO3). So, ideally, a Dreamwidth account would be needed to make the reveal post to the Kingsman Reverse Bang community, so at least one member of the team will need to have one. If neither person in a team has a Dreamwidth account or wants to create one (it's free and easy and we really recommend doing it), please send the post information to the mods and we will post it to on the teams' behalf. Authors and artists are welcome to sign up with other accounts as long as a valid email address is provided so we can have contact with you. We welcome and encourage cross-posting and reblogging on whatever your preferred platform is but one of the key reasons we are using Dreamwidth is the current problems with Tumblr flagging art as a violation of rules when it is not one. To avoid the complications, it is easier to host this on Dreamwidth, but we will work with artists and writers to make sure that everyone’s work is seen.
