WRITER SIGNUPS ARE NOW CLOSED
Welcome to Round One of the Kingsman Reverse Bang, where Art gets created and Words get written.
This is the signup post for WRITERS (there is a separate post and a separate form for artists). Remember, you can sign up to be both an artist and a writer, but you'll have to complete both forms.
Please use the Writer Signup Form (Google Doc) and then comment here that you've signed up. We would love for you to create your own Dreamwidth account (free and easy), but if you aren't ready to do so, please comment as Anon and include your Tumblr or Pillowfort handle in your comment.
We know that the Rules/FAQ post is long and detailed (your mods tend to err on the side of caution and have had lots of experience in these things, we know where it can all go so badly wrong), but please make sure you read the post before committing. Ask questions, too.

What type of requirements are there for a fic? Authors will write a completed fic with a minimum of 5,000 words, based on the artwork prompt you choose in the Art Claims post. Claims will be first come, first serve.
How do I know what art I'm writing for? / How do I make a claim? When the artists turn in their artwork, we'll make a claims post. In this post we'll include a preview of their work, as well as any warnings the artist gives and the artists preferred pairings. You can choose which piece of art you'd like to create a fic for, and then that person's art will get crossed off the list.
This post will be up for preview three days before claiming goes live, giving authors at least for seventy-two (72) hours to preview the art and make their selections. Comments on the post will be enabled on at a pre-announced time. If an author is unable to make the announced time they can arrange for a proxy to claim for them.
I've already been writing a fic, can I use that one? No. The fic you write must be based around the art you choose, using that as your prompt.
What genres/warnings are allowed? You may write a Kingsman story for whichever genre of fic you choose that works with the artwork you’ve claimed. The only exception to this is that this challenge excludes RPS/RPF. You will need to work with your artist and observe their likes/dislikes (as stated in their claims post). Your story should reflect what your artist is comfortable with it. Remember, you're creating the fic around the art and the artist (so, if your artist isn’t comfortable with explicit sex or gore, please respect that).
How do I work with my artist? This challenge is not intended as a full-on collaboration between artist and writer. Once the writer makes their selection, it is up to them to decide how much they want to collaborate with their chosen artist. We do strongly encourage writers and artists to collaborate, but it's not a requirement. So long as the writer takes into account an artist's stated DNW, the writer is free to write whatever they want.
Can I write with someone else? Yes, this year co-writing is allowed but the word minimum is 8,000 words for co-written pieces.
Will my fic be archived anywhere by the mods/community? No, where the story is posted will be up to the author.
Can I post my story as a WIP? Stories have to be completed at the time of posting. We do allow stories to be posted as a part of an author’s existing series or ‘verse, as long as they are able to stand on their own. If you are having trouble completing your story in time please let us know and we will try to work with you. We rather arrange for a delayed posting date (or allow the artist to post just their art within the posting period) then have an incomplete fic posted. However, if we find out an author posted an incomplete work while leading us to believe it was complete they will not be allowed to participate in the next round of the challenge.
I’ve written an epic, can I post over a period of days? While the challenge has a 5000 word minimum, we do recognize that many authors in the Kingsman fandom embrace the epic format and posting a multi-part fic on a single day can be stressful, and frankly, people do prefer to read long stories posted as chapters.
The rule of thumb is that stories must be kept under wraps until the posting period begins. Unlike traditional writing bangs, there will not be assigned posting dates, a team can chose when to post during the posting period (see schedule). It is up to the writer and artist to decide how many chapters (if any) they want to post, but the story must be fully posted by the end of the posting period. Your post on the Kingsman Reverse Bang Comm should be a Master Post with the art and links to all of the parts of the story, which you should update as those parts go live.
The complete Rules/FAQ can be found at the Community Profile and here.
Please don't hesitate to contact the mods if you have any questions at any point in the sign up. You can do so by commenting on any post, sending a PM via DW, or emailing the mods at the addresses in the FAQ. Our door is always open.

But I'm a bit confused - did you sign up as a writer and mean to sign up as an artist? I just checked the signups and you're in as a writer. No worries if you don't want to write and just want to art, I'll make a note to take you off of the writer list. You can sign up as an artist here
