Hard to believe but it's almost time for turn in and posting! All of your hard work is about to come to fruition.
This post is more than just a reminder of the impending due dates, it's a primer on how to add artwork to a story.
These instructions presume that you are posting on AO3 (since Tumblr has a drag and drop feature, and honestly, posting anything but a drabble on Tumblr is not a great idea). AO3 has an FAQ for how to insert images, but that presumes that you have the link to the hosted image.
If the artwork hasn't been modified since selection, authors can go to this post, right click on the image of your claimed artwork and copy the image address (it will begin with https://dl.dropbox.com/s/...). If artist and author have discussed and implemented changes and/or the artist has provided additional artwork, those images will need to be hosted. AO3 does not have hosting services, but you can use your Dreamwidth Account to upload them (under the "create" menu/header) and capture the URL there. You can also use Imgur or another hosting service, which will provide an image link.
If you have Dropbox, you can use that to host, but you'll need to make some changes to the URL - when you paste it into the AO3, it will be https://www.dropbox.com/s/, and you'll have to replace the "www." with "dl." so the image displays.
If you have trouble getting any of this to work, please contact me (
elrhiarhodan) and I'll walk you through it. It's not hard, just a bit fiddly.
